Karlosophies

Welcome to Karlosophies, I'm Karly Nimmo... and to be honest, I'm still very much figuring out this thing called life. Karlosophies has been a training ground for me to show up and speak up. It's grown and changed, as I've grown and changed. It started as a way for me to come to terms with the biggest failure of my life, and now that the failure chapter is officially closed, I want to explore what it's like to live life with the lid off.... what happens when you start living a life free of others expectation, and at times, your own... and start living a life in brilliant technicolour. Each week, I'll show up and peel back another layer of the stories that make up the fabric of who I am... and occasionally I'll dive deep with a guest on a topic that has piqued my curiosity. The intention of this podcast is to help you to remember, and step into, the truth, power and potential of who you really are. It's chock a block full of inspiring stories, business tips and takeaways to implement into your life for positive change. So show up and let Karlosophies speak to you, in any way you need it to.

Emma Veiga-Malta founded Bespoke Backdrops, a studio that creates the world's most imaginative video backdrops and event media walls.

Emma has a 20 year career as an artist and designer, in both Europe and Australia. She grew up in England, graduated in London with a fashion degree and moved to Switzerland, where she ran a small art studio.
She now lives in Sydney, Australia with her family, working with clients worldwide.

Business is as important to her as art and design. She rejects the 'starving artist' ethos - making money from your art is possible, wonderful and necessary.

Her 'why' is to make life and business more beautiful with art!

In this free flow convo, Karly hits the beach to chat about the very real entrepreneurial issue of idea addiction. When there are so many ideas flying into your mind, how do you know which ones to act upon and which ones should be left in the scrap heap?
Another free flow, real and raw take on life and business.
If you can throw in a few bucks to support the production of Karlosophies, it would be gratefully received. Head over to:  www.patreon.com/karlosophies

Lisa Orkin or Dorkin Orkin, as some call her (probably, herself) has been mixing comedy, story, and marketing for over 20 years. She has created award winning commercials with the Radio Ranch and award winning Indie films with the likes of Adam Mckay and Shira Piven. She's a comedian, actor, writer, podcaster, audio director and a veteran solo artist, and storyteller.
Lisa has lots of crazy good ideas and she can write comedy dialogue like no one's business, has a special super power to tell a story with a beginning, middle and end in under 60 seconds (check out her instagram feed), is a snazzy dresser and has a tailless cat named Violet. But she's not superhuman after all. She admits she's a terrible smoothie maker, can't draw, organize a drawer or park and drive like a grandma. She hates spreadsheets and coloring in the lines.
She can be present at your luncheon, yoga studio, living room or little or big business conference to tell you funny stories, teach you how to use comedy in marketing, how to get comfy on camera, in public or on a date. She has done all these things quite a bunch and like it and they like her and she has been known to bring special guests.

She's having a career change and not sure how it will go, but it will definitely involve doing comedy and having women's parties across America. Where mixture of laughter, cries, sharing and learning to take leaps. She has this awesome idea of mixing comedy and helping people brainstorm creative ideas for marketing and branding and anything streaming.
Check out Lisa's awesome podcast, Honestly Lisa. And, once again, check out her rad instagram feed - @lisaorkingram, connect with her on facebook and learn more about Lisa at honestlylisa.com

Using her degree in Visual Communications, Kathy Wong initially made her mark in the field of design branding, marketing and publications.

After retiring for ten years, she became a social entrepreneur - making a difference to poverty stricken children through her business Moeloco, which means "dream crazy". Moeloco designs and manufactures rubber flip flops that leave positive messages in the sand like "I am Peace", "Because I'm Happy", and "Be Grateful". For every pair of flip flops sold, Moeloco donates a pair of canvas shoes to a child in need - protecting them from injury and illness, and allowing them to attend school.

Kathy's vision for a "dream crazy" world is one where profits from product sales are used to give back to the community, and help those who really need it.

You can connect with Kathy and grab your own pair of flip flops at https://www.moeloco.com
