Karlosophies

Welcome to Karlosophies, I'm Karly Nimmo... and to be honest, I'm still very much figuring out this thing called life. Karlosophies has been a training ground for me to show up and speak up. It's grown and changed, as I've grown and changed. It started as a way for me to come to terms with the biggest failure of my life, and now that the failure chapter is officially closed, I want to explore what it's like to live life with the lid off.... what happens when you start living a life free of others expectation, and at times, your own... and start living a life in brilliant technicolour. Each week, I'll show up and peel back another layer of the stories that make up the fabric of who I am... and occasionally I'll dive deep with a guest on a topic that has piqued my curiosity. The intention of this podcast is to help you to remember, and step into, the truth, power and potential of who you really are. It's chock a block full of inspiring stories, business tips and takeaways to implement into your life for positive change. So show up and let Karlosophies speak to you, in any way you need it to.

Karly dives into a topic she's been exploring lately... the idea of the artist versus the entrepreneur. In this episode Karly breaks down what she sees as the key differences between business as the online entrepreneur, versus the artist approach.

Karly gets intimate and vulnerable on the beach today, sharing some big realisations which have made her questions some of the stories she's been telling herself about who she really is. This questioning is freeing, but also a little confronting. If she's not who she thinks she was, what is real and what is not?

Karly explores how the process of creating Find Your Freq, writing and committing to share her first book 'Memoir of a Mediocre Life' as an audio only experience, has really opened up something within her around what to do when you are swimming in self doubt.

When self kick sets in, what if instead of retreating or falling into chronic procrastination, we doubled down. Went head first into our self doubt and created in spite of it.

After 2 years of talking about it, Karly has finally checked her ego and decided to self publish 'Memoir of a Mediocre Life' as an audio only book. Makes sense, right?

In today's episode, Karly shares one short chapter from the upcoming book - to be released later this year. You can pre-order your copy and, as a bonus join an exclusive facebook group and get the chapters as they are produced, at karlynimmo.com/book

Karly has just returned from Hayhouse Writers Workshop in Melbourne with her new rainbow vest (check out her instagram @karlosophies if you have no idea what the big deal is)... and she's learned some surprising lessons purely through wearing this very bright, bold and out there item of clothing.

If you haven't had enough Karly, be sure to join her facebook group and follow her on instagram.

Karly's back in the interview seat this week to bring an ep that's been sitting on the hard drive for months - due to self doubt.

Angela Ponsford is a facebook ads guru who has gone from being a sole trader, who felt she lacked vision, to a successful partnership and then being offered the opportunity of a lifetime... as an employee of one of the biggest and most successful facebook ads agencies around. Leading Ang to make the difficult decision to leave behind the business she spent years tending to and building. She is now is happier than ever: doing work she loves, with a fab international team, from her home here in Lennox Head. Best of both worlds.

It's a great ep that serves as a reminder to remain open to opportunities.

On today's episode Karly dives into the feeling of inadequacy and self doubt that have reared up while creating and delivery her latest offering, Find Your Freq.

And she discovers that perhaps inadequacy exists nowhere else but inside of you. Maybe no one else is looking at you thinking you are inadequate? She questions whether you need to have your shit together, or be free of self doubt, or be something other than what you are in order to have a fulfilling, creative life.

On today’s episode Karly dives into a listener question – Georgie asked in the Show up Speak up group“I’ve been thinking about being in our feminine presence, In regards to being fully present. How do we get out of our head bubble and into our bodies so we can embody our message and share it in an authentic way?”

Karly discusses how the balance between masculine and feminine is just two sides of the same coin and how embracing both sides requires you to be fully in your truth. Karly speaks about how staying in your truth requires continual practice. Your truth is who you really are – truth is not feminine or masculine it transcends gender. Your truth is not gender specific it is universal – it’s a truth that lives beyond your body.

How ME can I be?

Today Karly explores how ME she can be. How she can revel in all her perfect imperfection and sing with joy, abandon, and FEELING! She looks at how she can create that feeling of full expression in all areas of her life. Karly challenges you, the listener, to reach out and explore the areas of your life where you think; “I can’t do that” or “I’m no good at that” and ask yourself what if that wasn’t true? Where are you pulling back? How far can you take expression? How free can you be? What would happen if you tuned into YOUR frequency?

In this week's episode, Karly shares her excitement as she moves one step closer to fully realising her full creative force. Karly talks about how she has doubted herself and her musical ability and how she felt overlooked, until now.
After going live into her Show up Speak Up Facebook group to perform “Million Reasons - By Lady Gaga” Karly had a breakthrough moment, as she played into the group and felt the deep sense of freedom that comes from giving herself the space to be fully engaged and present with performing.
“We have to give ourselves permission to give ourselves what we want”

**Trigger warning** Shit is about to get real!

Karly is in full truth teller mode today as she gets real about integrity in business and in life. Going from the woman who punched herself in the mirror to the woman who is called to be an artist and creator. Karly has been on a journey to discover, listen to and trust her inner voice and really LOVE the person who she sees looking back at her.
Often she has wondered if her need to be in full integrity was just another way for her inner rebel to sabotage her success. If ditching her email list was one more way for the inner rebel to say FU to the marketing gurus, or if it was truly in full integrity.
Now she sees that it wasn’t until she fully surrendered that all the bullsh*t fell away revealing what she undeniably wants and how if she is to fully claim that dream and make it a reality, she MUST stand for her full, honest, raw, truth. She must be in full integrity and she asks you, the listener, are you ready to be there too?

Are you ready to stand for your dream? To ditch the BS and BE who you actually fu*king want to be?

So the question is: What is YOUR truth? What are you willing to stand for? What is the dream that you are willing to stop dicking around with all the other BS and fully give yourself over to and start being a human BEING, not a human doing?

Share your thoughts in the Show Up Speak UP Group and if you feel called to, claim one of Karly's one on one sessions by emailing her here.

In today’s episode, Karly talks about her resistance to practicing, consistency and following the rules. The theme of being unable to be consistent with practice has shown up frequently for Karly, and this has caused Karly’s inner rebel to say a big F-U to following the rules. Karly has often found herself wanting to be excellent at all things while not having the discipline to do the work necessary to gain a standard of excellence.

Listen in as Karly talks about how bringing musical practice into her life, has helped to change her view on following the rules. With the boundaries that music provides, Karly has found herself softening into the rules help to create space for creativity. This then allows her to step out of the rebel (control freak) persona and move more deeply into the role of creator and artist.

3:31 - “the rebel me is like f**k you! I don’t practice, I don’t need to practice, I’m just inherently worthy”

5:19 - Jonathan Fields - The good life project podcast - Power Norms and rules.

7:27 - Press the keys and THAT’S the creating!

11:34 The rule breaker persona is a control freak and doesn’t want to be told what to do.

In this free flow, Karly comes in from her home in New South Wales challenging us all to act and believe that we are beautiful, absolutely confident, expert and experienced, brave and bold even just for a day and see what can happen and what we can achieve.

Like the movie “I Feel Pretty” by Amy Schumer, Karly also struggles with body and looks issues and how she long for a time that the value of women will not be based anymore on how one physically looks.
May 22, 2018
This free flow is brought by Mabel’s curiosity….and how Karly tries to explain things to her in a  very non-physicist way. She makes a great analogy of life and a battery…. Positive and negative charges in life are  created by how we define and put meaning to it.

This conversation is one of the many conversations Karly wants to dish out to her listeners as she starts to divert from the stories behind success format.
While at her Byron Bay event, a Karlosophies listener  asked her question on life’s purpose and she wants to dig deeper of that here in this convo.
Was finding work with purpose and meaning a universal concept? Or was it something reserved only for those in privileged, peaceful countries?
Here is a story of a woman who grew up from a substantially rich family in Kiev, Ukraine who had to left the country because of Jewish oppression to a money wrecked, financially struggling family when they migrated to Israel. She grew up in conflict and escalation, with constant threats of bombs and explosions.  She worked hard in her corporate life ‘til she decided that she had enough of Israel’s wars and troubles.
With her husband and kids, she took a transfer and moved to Australia and she had seen and experience how culturally and dynamically different Oz from where she had lived most of her life.  Did she finally find her life’s purpose? Listen to find out.

In this free flow, Karly informs her avid listeners on some big changes to the podcast format in the coming days. She has been wanting to shake it up for a while and now and is the time to finally make it happen.

She also talks about self fulfilling prophecy… when the thing you most resists, persists. Karly explores her fear of not being seen and how it was actually her actions responsible for it becoming her reality.

Another free flow, real, honest and juicy convo from the beaches of the Far North Coast of NSW.

After more than 20 years in the corporate world and 10 years studying and advocating Nutritional Medicine, natural health and wellness, Ros discovered Human Design, or perhaps it discovered her?

She is a Human Design Specialist who knows that Human Design is the most effective tool available to show us the truth of who we are, showing us how we each make the best decisions, use our energy and relate to the people in our lives, where we are wise, do business and so much more.

Ros brings her soul resonance to her readings, bringing the chart to life and offering her clients a deep connection to the power of understanding their own Human Design. She reads their chart with the intention of giving them a real understanding and acceptance of who they are and what they are here to do.

She lives in Melbourne Australia with her partner and their 11 year old daughter treading as lightly as they can on our beautiful planet. She knows that her life purpose is to help in the job of bringing Human Design’s wisdom to the world. It’s in her chart!

You can get a free chart of your body graph at: http://findyournaturalgroove.com/human-design-free-chart/

And to the avid Karlosophies listeners out there, Ros and Karly are partnering for a wonderful cause. Ros is generously donating 20% of any reading by a Karlosophies listener to support one of Karly's good friends little boy, Ryder.

Ryder has Neuroblastoma - a rare form of very aggressive childhood cancer. He's been confined to a hospital for the best part of the last 6 months, while going through 7 rounds of chemo and he still has 12-28 months of radiation and immunotherapy to go. Even still, the likelihood of the cancer returning is around 50%.

There is a trial in the states, which Ryder is eligible for, that is showing great promise and starts at around $160,000US. In order to go, Kath needs to raise around AU$250-300k... and Karly wants them to go very badly.

If you'd like to take advantage of Ros' generous offer to donate 20% of any reading, please use the code RYDER at checkout.

And if you'd like to throw some cash on Kath and Ryder's way, or you'd like to learn more about Ryder's journey, please visit: https://www.gofundme.com/rydersjourneyustrial

Karly comes in fresh from the public speaking event “One Day in Byron Bay”, which she created with her great friends, Chara Caruthers, Bronnie Ware and Marcus Pearce. She is still relishing the realization of a dream which she had about 3 years ago.

This speaking event turned out to be a celebration of all of the work that she has done on getting to know herself, and learning to like herself… and it’s paying off.

She also gives a sneak preview on how she wants Karlosophies to run in the coming episodes…she wants it to be aligned with the direction she is heading to.

Also, her Patreon page is up and running and if you have some loose change and want something good to do with it, you can help give Karlosophies some support.
